Listen to my music on Apple Music
Welcome to Greg Otero Music!
Here you'll find songs I've written about love, nature, relationships, politics, aging, morality, mortality—and quite a few things in between.
However, I'm not a musician. But in early 2026, I discovered that with the help of AI, I could finally do something I'd never been able to do before: put my words to music. What started as an experiment quickly became something much bigger. I found myself writing every day, often for hours at a time, exploring everything from folk, singer/songwriter and rock 'n' roll to jazz, blues, reggae and more. Before I knew it, a lifetime of thoughts, memories, observations and feelings had begun finding their way into songs.
I've never been quite so absorbed by a creative project. Between February and September 2026, I wrote enough songs to produce four albums—and enjoyed just about every minute of it. If you're somewhere around my generation, you may recognize a few of the places these songs come from: looking back at where we've been, wondering where we're headed, appreciating what we have, and occasionally shaking our heads at the world around us. AI provided the music, but not without my direction. And the words, stories and feelings behind these songs - they are very much my own!
Thank you for stopping by—and for giving them a listen.
All lyrics are original works written by Greg Otero and are protected by copyright. The recordings were tirelessly produced using Suno (the 21st Century's digital attempt to emulate the Wrecking Crew), under a paid subscription, which grants me ownership and commercial-use rights to the generated songs; copyright protection for the AI-generated musical elements themselves is less certain under current U.S. copyright law.
My first album was inspired by one thought... that life is short. I disagreed. The way I see it, is that when we take a good look back at our lives, we can truly see how full and complete our lives have been. And how most of us have a lot to be grateful for.

My second album was created using a variety of musical styles, which was intended as a tribute to the many artists that formed the soundtrack of my life. I was inspired from bands like the Rolling Stones and the Grateful Dead to Earth, Wind & Fire to Bob Dylan, and beyond. With my own lyrics, I then tried to pay homage to the sounds that these artists created.

My fourth album is an assortment of a couple of songs that didn't fit on my last album, plus several other songs that were inspired by the down-home, home-grown and melodic sounds of bluegrass music. So many of the songs here we produced in that style. And that music illicated thoughts and feelings and a vibe that helped to create the lyrics to match the tunes.
